Reminders for Class #4 (Tuesday 3/6, 7:20, Robinson A352)

Your remaining 5 annotated bibliographies are due on Wednesday 2/29 at 10 p.m. Share/email them to me. Make sure it is clearly marked somehow (by number, color, etc.) which are your 15 for this semester.

The new drafts of your introduction and literature review together in one document are due to me Saturday 3/3 at 6p.m. Share to partners and mentors as you desire. Recall that this will represent 20% of your course grade.

This Week's Peer Review Exercise: Is here in case you missed it.

Bonus: Remember our discussion of "warrants" from Craft of Research? The idea is that factual claims must not only be supported by evidence, but also be directly relevant to the argument at issue. (i.e. "Why would this be proof of that?") This letter is from a regulatory body called FINRA that creates headaches for me when I write promotional material for mutual funds. Notice their use of "unwarranted." At least you don't have editors for BIS like this, ha ha.

Some Clarifications

1. It is not required that you have an additional "reader" for your BIS 490 project. Just the faculty mentor. I forgot to delete this from the form I gave you. (Although if you can get someone to do it, having an extra reader is always a good idea.)

2. As noted in the paper syllabus, the deadline for Lit Review + Expanded Annotated Bibliography is Sunday at 6:00pm. Please share/email these to me and your partners as ONE file.

3. As noted in the paper syllabus, only 10 A.B. entries are required. The remaining 5 are due on 2/27. That's why it says "15 new ones for the semester" or something to that effect elsewhere on the syllabus.

4. There is no peer review requirement yet for the literature review. I will announce the deadline during Tuesday night's class (Feb 21st) in Robinson A352.
